166th Cambridge vs. Oxford Boat Race – April 2020 – CANCELLED

| March 20, 2014 | 0 Comments

So sad. The CoronaVirus strikes again.

In 1915 it was cancelled because the boys were going off to war.

Our fingers will need to remain crossed all the way round to April 2021!

Held on the river Thames in London from Putney Bridge to Mortlake. The course record is just over 18minutes. These boys train 4hrs per day, 6 days per week for over 7months. There are around 600 stokes of the blade during the whole race for one boat. As at today Cambridge has won 84 to Oxford’s 80.  For more visit http://theboatrace.org/men/ or http://www.cubc.org.uk/

Where is the best place to watch the race here in Cambridge? Our suggestion is The Fort St. George in Midsummer Common. For more information visit https://www.greeneking-pubs.co.uk/pubs/cambridgeshire/fort-st-george/
