Violinist Pinchas Zukerman comes to Cambridge – 11th April 2015

One of the world’s greatest violinists, Pinchas Zukerman, plays Elgar’s hauntingly beautiful Violin Concerto with Corn Exchange Orchestra in Residence the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, on Saturday 11 April 2015, the penultimate concert in the 2014/15 Cambridge Classical Concert Series.


Conducted by Christoph Koenig, the concert opens with Beethoven’s monumental Symphony No. 3 (‘Eroica’), one of the most popular of Beethoven’s works and the one which ushered in the Romantic era of musical composition.


There is a pre-concert talk, starting at 6pm at the nearby Cambridge City Hotel, in which local classical music expert James Day provides insights into the background of the composers and repertoire you are about to hear.  This event is free of charge to ticket holders.
